Core Combat Sports: A Second Home

CCS may not be a gym whose purpose is straight out fitness, but the exercise is definitely included. Every class has smiling, technique, and cardio. All of the cardio done at CCS is usually related to martial arts. Some of the routines, like line drills, are performed on a daily basis. The line drills really hit on the body mastery aspect of it all. When you're tired, you're reminded by the atmosphere of the gym to keep going. Just when it starts getting hard, the fitness comes in. Pushups, Jiu-Jitsu sit-ups, rolling, you name it. You'll get a sweat first of all just from drilling the moves, pumping out the reps. One way hard work is maintained is the "C-word" rule. New people will say that they "can't" do something. In actuality, they can. Every time someone says the "C" word, that person owes 10 pushups: even more cardio! This really makes sure that everyone is in the right mindset, and will push to the finish. Just ask some students at Core and their experience, how it has changed their lives, the weight-loss stories. They are all happening here at Core Combat Sports!
Then, there is learning the skill. There are so many different skills that are offered at CCS, and you can do them all if you wanted! People come in to learn the skill for various reasons. Lose weight, compete, want to be in the UFC, build confidence, be prepared. First of all it is really important for someone to be able to defend himself/herself. (That's right, there are girls at CCS, and they kick butt!) No matter where you are there is always a possibility of someone coming in your personal bubble, and that is why it is important to know some self defense! It also builds character. All of the things you do in the gym reflect all of the things you do outside the gym, and vice versa. If you're gonna have an outstanding attitude about your training at CCS, then most likely, you're gonna have an outstanding attitude about anything thrown at you in life. It's a mentality thing. It is surely an investment of your time to develop one of these skills to not only build confidence and defend yourself, but to become a better person!
